Bio

Where are you from and where did you grow up?

I’m from Baton Rouge, La. I was born in Scotlandville, Scotland Square; apartment 1900 Blount Rd. Um, I moved to Glen Oaks in ’97. I was still young, so I was raised in Glen Oaks. So you know, I’m from Scottland and Glen Oaks.

What is your musical background?

I just really liked music growing up. My older brother on my Daddy side, he did music but, I just loved music. I use to have parties all the time when I was young, and liked to see everybody move. I had fun doing the parties, so I really just fell in love wit it then.

I saw how music just made everybody happy, so that’s what made me wanna do music.

Who are your biggest influences and favorite artists?

My biggest influence was, damn... I don’t know. Really... My biggest influences was Master P. That nigga Master P did some numbers! Back then it was No Limit and Cash Money. No Limit came first so I’m gonna have to say Master P. I ain’t lie, that nigga Too Short influenced me, Luke influenced me, E-40, MJG, Three6 Mafia. I feel like I got apart of all that. Along with Pimp C and Bun B. I got all that era, one big pot of down south gumbo man; and that’s who I am. That’s how the Pyrex Baby came about.

My favorite artist back then was C-Murder and Mystical. Right now its Jeezy, Yo Gotti and I fuck wit 2 Chainz. Oh! that boy YFN Lucci, that boy the truth.

What do you think of todays hip hop scene?

It is what it is... Shit change, I think its good. Plus, I think its leaning more towards the south like Louisiana, they got they eye on us. I can’t complain about that one fasho.

How would you describe your style?

Shit. My style is like, I got an old soul with the young energy. I call it the Benjamin Button, The Old Young nigga.

What are the main inspirations for the lyrics you write?

LIFE. My inspiration is life, the shit I’m going through everyday. That’s what inspires me. That’s everything I write about.

How do you separate yourself from other artists?

To tell the truth, these niggas get in the booth and get to freestylin and doing all that shit. I ain’t got shit against none of that, but I feel like niggas gettin in there freestylin making all these mixtapes; you niggas gotta be making that shit up. It ain’t that much shit to talk about in the world.

So what separates me from them is, I don’t record none of that extra shit. Every time I record, everything I record goes on the mixtape. I don’t record unless its going on the tape.

What do you bring to the game that its missing?

That young, hungry, old school, new school, dope boy swag. I don’t think nobody in my lane. I got my own lane, especially in my area. Ain’t nobody fuckin wit it like me. So I bring that part of the game thats missing. That new school energy with the old school heart and feel. Because I was raised around nothing but old heads.

Any final shout outs?

I wanna shout out God, My old lady, my kids and my O.G. T. Prince. That nigga there, he a real one. He taught me how to stand on my own without needing a nigga or depending on no nigga. Shout out to that nigga there man. Shout out to that nigga.
